The US media outlet The Wall Street Journal has published new sensational information amid the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The report claims that the United Arab Emirates participated in a secret military attack on Iran in coordination with Israel and the US.

The report published on Monday said that an attack was carried out in early April targeting an important oil refinery located on Iran's Lavan Island. The facility was severely damaged and Iran had to spend a long time to normalize the situation.

According to the report, while other Arab countries in the Gulf region refused to participate in such operations, the Emirates directly coordinated with the US and Israel. Through this, it is claimed that they are the only country in the Gulf region to participate in a joint military operation, although not publicly.

There is no clear information about whether the attack took place before or after the ceasefire. However, immediately after the incident, Iran called it an “attack by an unknown enemy.” Later, Tehran launched a massive missile and drone attack targeting the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait in response.

Citing a US source, the report also said that US President Donald Trump is viewing the UAE’s participation positively. However, neither the UAE’s Foreign Ministry nor the US Department of Defense have agreed to officially comment on the matter.

It is worth noting that Iran has launched hundreds of missiles and thousands of drone attacks targeting US military and strategic installations in the Emirates since the conflict began on February 28. Various reports say that about 550 missiles and more than 2,200 drones have been launched so far.

According to analysts, if this report by the Wall Street Journal is true, a new reality could be created in the geopolitics of the Middle East. In particular, new questions could be raised in the international community about the role of the Gulf countries and regional alliance politics.
