Drone attacks have occurred simultaneously in Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates in the Middle East. The attack occurred in the context of the ongoing tense ceasefire between Iran and the United States and Israel, according to international media reports.
A drone attack targeting a commercial ship in Qatar caused a brief fire. Qatar's Defense Ministry said the incident occurred in the country's waters northeast of the port of Mesaieed. However, the fire was quickly brought under control and there were no casualties.
At the same time, the country's military in Kuwait detected several suspicious drones in the sky. The army said that these drones were dealt with through conventional defense systems. However, there is no confirmed information yet about where the drones came from.
On the other hand, the United Arab Emirates' Defense Ministry claimed that it was able to destroy at least two drones launched from Iran in the sky. According to them, the country's air defense system has intercepted hundreds of missiles and thousands of drones since the start of the ongoing tension.
Meanwhile, on the same day, another commercial ship was reported to have been damaged near Qatari waters. The British Maritime Safety Agency said that it is believed that an unidentified missile-like object could have hit the ship.
The whole incident has created new security concerns in the Middle East. Although the air defense systems of several countries are active, it is believed that the situation is not yet fully normal.
