The political uncertainty over government formation in Tamil Nadu has deepened. Actor-politician Vijay's party Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) is now busy trying to form an alliance due to not getting a majority, but it has already demanded re-election.

In a post on social media X on Thursday (May 7), technology company Zoho co-founder Sridhar Vembu said that in the current situation, it has become difficult to form a stable government. Therefore, the best solution may be to impose President's rule and hold fresh elections.

He said, "No matter how the government is formed, there is a risk of instability due to various pressures and compromises. Tamil Nadu deserves better than this."

Vembu also claimed that if fresh elections are held, Vijay's party TVK could come to power with a super majority. At the same time, he called for a strict end to vote buying.

TVK emerged as the single largest party in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections held on April 23 by winning 108 out of 234 seats. However, the party is still 10 seats short of the 118-seat majority required to form the government.

Vijay has already sought the support of Congress, VCK, CPI, CPM and BJP's ally PMK to form the government. There are also reports of their meeting with AIADMK.

Meanwhile, the Congress has said that it may support Vijay if there is no 'communal force' in the alliance that does not believe in the Constitution. However, other parties have not yet made their official stance.

Vijay met the Tamil Nadu Governor on Wednesday and demanded government formation. However, he has not yet been formally invited to form the government. According to political analysts, TVK may need more time to secure the necessary support.
