US President Donald Trump has warned of a strong response against Iran if any US ship is attacked in the Strait of Hormuz. He said that if such a situation arises, Iran could be 'wiped out of the face of the earth'.
In a speech given on Fox News, Trump highlighted the military capabilities of the US. He claimed that the US currently has a large stockpile of high-quality weapons and ammunition compared to any time in the past.
Stating that US military bases spread around the world are equipped with modern combat equipment, he said that the US is ready to use these forces if necessary.
However, in addition to the military threat, Trump also raised the possibility of peace talks. According to him, Iran has become somewhat more flexible in negotiations than before. Nevertheless, he emphasized the need to further strengthen the US military presence in the Middle East.
