It has been reported that the BJP is ahead in the initial phase of vote counting in the West Bengal assembly elections. According to the results of the initial few rounds of counting, the BJP is ahead in 188 seats and the Trinamool Congress is ahead in 98 seats.
As soon as this trend of results came out, a festive atmosphere was created at the BJP office. Along with sweets, jhalmuri was also distributed among the party leaders, workers and supporters.
According to BBC correspondent Ishadrita Lahiri, a picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi eating jhalmuri in Jhargram during the election campaign went viral on social media. As a reminder of that incident, jhalmuri was distributed again at the BJP office on the day of counting.
