The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said one Israeli soldier was killed and six others were wounded during a military operation in southern Lebanon. At the same time, at least 14 people were reported to have been killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon.
The IDF said in a statement on Sunday (April 26) that the soldier was named as Sergeant Idan Fus. He was a member of the 77th Battalion of the 7th Brigade of the Israeli army. Another officer and three soldiers were seriously injured in the clashes, while the other two had relatively minor injuries.
The IDF said the injured soldiers were quickly rescued and taken to hospital. Their families have also been informed.
Meanwhile, local sources said at least 14 people were killed in Israeli attacks in various areas of Lebanon. Both Israel and Hezbollah accuse each other of violating the ceasefire.
Despite a US-brokered ceasefire, clashes and airstrikes continue in southern Lebanon, causing widespread panic among the population and forcing thousands of people to flee their homes once again.
