Amid the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Pakistan wants to play an active role in bringing the US and Iran to the negotiating table. This was stated by the country's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Speaking after a high-level meeting held in Islamabad on Sunday (March 29), he said that Pakistan is ready to mediate constructively to maintain regional stability and stop the ongoing conflict.

The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt participated in this meeting. They all expressed deep concern about the growing crisis in the Middle East and its economic and humanitarian impact.

Shehbaz Sharif said that if the conflict continues, the economy and security system of the entire region will be at serious risk. Therefore, it is important to find a quick diplomatic solution.

He also said that Pakistan has been informally acting as a bridge between Washington and Tehran for a long time. Now Islamabad wants to formalize that role.

According to analysts, Pakistan's initiative may gain some momentum with the support of influential countries like Saudi Arabia and Turkey. However, its success will largely depend on how positively the leadership of the United States and Iran respond.

Overall, this diplomatic initiative by Pakistan is being seen as a potential new path to restoring peace in the Middle East.
