Yemen's Houthis declare support for Iran, attack at any time

Yemen's armed group Houthi movement has further complicated the situation amid the ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The group has publicly stated that if necessary, they will directly participate in the war and fight on Iran's side and are ready to launch military operations at any moment.
In a confidential interview given to the news agency Reuters, a top Houthi leader claimed that their military preparations are already complete. Alternative plans have also been prepared for all possible situations. According to his statement, Iran is in a strategic position in the current conflict and is maintaining constant pressure on the opponent.
The group has stated that they are closely monitoring the situation and will decide in due time when it is appropriate to engage in direct conflict. According to analysts, if the Houthis enter the war directly, a new war front may be created in the Middle East, which will further widen the conflict.
The Bab al-Mandeb Strait in particular is likely to become the focus of this tension. International commercial ships, especially those bound for the Suez Canal, pass through this important waterway. As a result, if instability develops here, global trade and energy supplies could be at great risk.
It is worth noting that the Houthi group has previously been accused of attacking tankers and commercial ships in this waterway. As a result, those concerned fear that if tensions increase in the Strait of Hormuz as well as in Bab al-Mandeb, it could have a major impact on the global economy.
Overall, the ongoing conflict in the Middle East is now gradually indicating that it is going beyond regional boundaries and becoming a larger international crisis.
