Tensions in the Middle East have escalated sharply after Israel launched a sudden strike in Tehran early Saturday (February 28), according to state media in Iran. Israel’s defense minister confirmed that missile strikes were carried out inside Iranian territory.
Iranian media reported at least three explosions in the capital. Fars News Agency stated that multiple missile blasts were heard across different parts of Tehran. However, no immediate details were released regarding casualties or the extent of the damage.
Meanwhile, sirens were activated across Israel as a precautionary measure. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the alert system was triggered to prepare civilians for the possibility of incoming missiles toward Israeli territory.
The strike comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, further complicating an already fragile regional landscape. Analysts warn that the latest developments could significantly increase the risk of a broader military confrontation in the Middle East.
