Nicolás Maduro has been elected president for a third term in Venezuela. Maduro's victory was confirmed in the results released by the country's electoral commission. He defeated his opponent Edmundo Gonzalez with 51.2 percent of the vote. Gonzalez received 44 percent of the vote. Online Al Jazeera gave this news
