Strong Typhoon Ragasa hit southern China's Guangdong Province on Wednesday (September 24) after wreaking havoc in the Philippines and Taiwan. The storm hit the coast of Hailing Island in Yangjiang City, Guangdong in the afternoon local time, causing terrible destruction.

Chinese state television CCTV reported that the wind speed in the central part of Ragasa was about 144 kilometers per hour. At least 62 people were injured in Hong Kong due to the storm and extensive damage to infrastructure.

Ragasa, which first hit the Philippines on Monday, then turned into a super typhoon. It then headed towards Taiwan and China. It is attracting attention as the most powerful typhoon this year.
