Amid calls around the world to end the war in Gaza, the US Trump administration has decided to sell $6.4 billion worth of new weapons to Israel. The latest decision includes attack helicopters, tanks and ammunition.

A Reuters report said that the proposed arms sale will include 30 AH-64 Apache attack helicopters and 3,250 infantry assault vehicles or tanks. The helicopters have been priced at $3.8 billion and the tanks at $1.9 billion. The remaining $700 million has been allocated for parts and ammunition for these equipment.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's military is conducting a military operation to completely capture Gaza. It is believed that these new weapons will be used in that operation.

It is worth noting that the war began on October 7, 2023, when a group controlled by Gaza launched an ambush on Israel. In that attack, 1,200 people were killed and 251 were taken hostage. Since then, more than 62,000 people have been killed in Gaza and about 166,000 injured in the ongoing operation.

In this situation, a ceasefire proposal in Gaza has been raised six times in the UN Security Council, but the United States has vetoed it each time.

Meanwhile, France and Saudi Arabia are organizing an international conference in New York on September 22 to demand the recognition of Palestine as an independent state. At such a time, criticism has begun in the international community about the Trump administration's decision to sell this arms.
