Former US President Donald Trump's fascination with the British royal family is very old. Since childhood, he has been attracted to the nobility and splendor of the royal family. His mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, was a fan of the royal family. Trump was also fascinated by the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on television in 1953.
Later, as a businessman, Trump has often tried to use the royal family in his campaigns. Many associates believe that Princess Diana's name in particular has been used in his business strategy. Urban planner Wes Blackman said that Trump wanted to include Diana's name in the list of potential members of the Mar-a-Lago Club, so that people's interest increases.
There have been rumors at various times that Trump wanted to get close to Princess Diana. Tabloids also published news that Prince Charles and Diana were going to buy a luxury apartment in Trump Tower. Many believe that Trump himself spread this rumor.
Fiona Hill, Trump's former national security adviser, writes in her book that meeting the royal family was a symbol of Trump's great success in life. Meeting Queen Elizabeth II during his 2019 visit to the UK was like a dream come true for him. He recently enjoyed the splendor again by attending a dinner hosted by King Charles III at Windsor Castle.
It is even rumored that Trump once offered Prince Charles a free year's membership at Mar-a-Lago. However, Charles' office replied that if he wanted, he could donate to the prince's environmental charity.
All in all, the British royal family has always had a special influence on Trump's life. His attraction to Princess Diana and various strategies surrounding the royal family are still a topic of discussion today.
