The Middle East has reached a new high. On Saturday (June 14), Iran launched more than 200 missiles simultaneously in direct retaliation against Israel. According to a report by Iran International, one woman was killed and at least 14 people were injured in the attack in Israel.
A source close to the Israeli government said that Iran launched about 200 missiles in the first phase. However, fewer than 10 of them hit Israeli territory. It is believed that most of the missiles were shot down mid-flight due to Israeli defense systems.
Israeli media reported that the missiles hit a building near the Defense Ministry in Tel Aviv. According to the Times of Israel live update, missile attack sirens have been sounded across Israel, causing panic among the public.
On the other hand, Israel is also retaliating in various parts of Iran. Iran International reported that Israeli forces are carrying out continuous airstrikes in the capital Tehran and Isfahan. Large explosions have been heard in Tehran. Iran's air defense system is trying to repel these attacks.
According to the report, it is feared that Israel may now target Iran's oil and gas infrastructure. In this situation, the Iranian military is fully prepared, a statement said.
Earlier, Israel carried out a massive attack across Iran in the early hours of Friday (June 13). Several top officials of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed in this. Among the dead were the head of Iran's armed forces, the head of the IRGC and 20 other commanders.
The Israeli attack also caused extensive damage to Iran's missile factories, military bases and uranium storage infrastructure. Today's massive missile launch is believed to be in retaliation.
Iranian state television has claimed that they have shot down two Israeli warplanes. Although the truth of this claim is not yet confirmed.
Analysts believe that a war situation is developing in the Middle East and if this conflict gets out of control, a terrible humanitarian disaster could occur throughout the region.
