Tensions between India and Pakistan are at an all-time high after the deadly gun attack in Pahelgam. In this situation, the Pakistan Army has made it clear that if India creates a war situation, it will be given a stern response. Islamabad has pledged to be ready at any cost to protect the sovereignty of the country and the honor of its people.
This message was given at the Special Corps Commanders' Conference (CCC) held at the Army Headquarters in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, under the leadership of Army Chief General Asim Munir. In the meeting, the country's top military officers reiterated their commitment to protecting Pakistan's territorial integrity.
On April 22, 26 people were killed in a horrific gun attack in Pahelgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Although India directly blamed Pakistan for the incident, Islamabad denied the allegation. But to further escalate the tension, India has taken several strict steps - suspending the Indus Water Treaty, canceling visas for Pakistani citizens and closing the Wagah border.
In response, Pakistan has also decided to cancel visas for Indians and close major border crossings. The CCC meeting had a long discussion on the current diplomatic relations between the two countries, the geopolitical environment, and the regional security situation.
Army Chief Asim Munir praised the operational preparedness, professionalism, and morale of the army. At the same time, he ordered to maintain maximum vigilance along the border.
Experts believe that this new tension is increasing the risk of conflict between the two nuclear-armed countries, which could pose a serious threat to the security of the entire South Asia.
