Israeli forces have carried out airstrikes in eastern Lebanon amid the ceasefire, killing at least 6 Lebanese. Two others were also injured. On Saturday, February 8, Israel carried out a drone attack in the Shara area near the town of Jennata in the eastern Bekaa region, which was confirmed by the international news agency Al Jazeera and the Lebanese National News Agency.
The Israeli army said in a statement that it had attacked Hezbollah targets and one of the sites used for the production and storage of strategic weapons.
It is noteworthy that the ceasefire agreement signed on November 27, 2024, expired on January 26, and was later extended by the United States until February 18. However, within the first 60 days of this agreement, Israel has delayed the withdrawal of its troops from southern Lebanon, which Lebanon claims is a violation of the agreement.
In addition, Israel has launched an attack on the eastern Bekaa Valley, which is generally considered a Hezbollah stronghold. Earlier, on January 31, the Israeli army struck multiple Hezbollah targets near the Syrian border, killing two people.
Hezbollah official Ibrahim Mousavi condemned the attack, saying, "This attack is very dangerous and a clear aggression," and he called for an end to Israel's continued attacks on Lebanon.
