Football (soccer) is not very popular in the United States. Baseball, American football and basketball are the main topics of discussion there. But US President Donald Trump is a bit of an exception in this case. He has had a special interest in football since childhood.
According to a report by Fox Sports, when Trump was studying at the New York Military Academy, he played football as a right winger. His interest in European football has also been there since then. Trump’s favorite club is Manchester United, one of the most successful teams in the English Premier League, who have won the Premier League 13 times.
The love for football has also spread to the Trump family. His son Barron Trump is very interested in football. Barron was once a member of the academy team of Major League Soccer (MLS) club DC United. However, Barron’s favorite club is Arsenal in London, not Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Trump's grandson, Ivanka Trump's son Theodore James, is a fan of the PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) club.
Donald Trump has also shown interest in investing in football. He considered buying the Latin American club Atletico Nacional. However, it did not materialize in the end.
