Saudi Arabia has tightened visa policies for Indian workers. From now on, Indians will have to go through a pre-verification process to prove their professional qualifications and educational qualifications to work in Saudi Arabia.
According to a report by Indian media NDTV, this new rule came into effect from Tuesday. According to the information provided by the Indian mission in Saudi Arabia, professional skills verification is mandatory before applying for a visa.
As part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, the country is emphasizing on hiring skilled workers. It is learned that this policy is being applied initially to Indian workers, but in the future it may also be effective for other countries.
Currently, there are about 2.4 million Indians working in Saudi Arabia. Out of these, 1.7 million are employed in private organizations and the rest are employed as domestic workers. Saudi authorities believe that this change will improve the quality of the labor market and make it possible to hire good quality workers.
