A short video went viral on Saudi social media on Sunday. The video shows a woman with short hair sitting in a salon chair and the hairdressers covering her body with extra clothes or plastic wrap while cutting a person's hair, and the woman herself is also wearing a similar plastic wrap. The video suggests that the woman's services have ended.
The video went viral soon after it was published on Sunday, and the Riyadh city authorities immediately began investigating the matter. Initial investigations revealed that the salon owner had stated in the license application that only men would be served in his parlor.
The Riyadh city authorities have already summoned the salon owner due to the discrepancy between the information in the application and the actual activities. An official from the city authorities said that appropriate legal action will be taken against him for alleged misuse of the license.
A statement from Riyadh's city authorities on Monday said, "The city authorities are committed to ensuring that no service center can abuse its license and provide the highest level of service to customers."
