In January 2022, a pet cat named Shoto went missing from a home in Texas, USA. The cat was recently returned to its owner after three years and nearly 2,000 miles away in Massachusetts.
According to a report by the international media The New York Times, Shoto was rescued by an organization called The Dakin Humane Society. They said on social media that a person recently found a 'strayed skinny' cat.
He later took her to a local animal shelter. There, the cat was identified as 'Shoto' after the microchip examination carried with it. It was then learned that the pet cat had gone missing from Texas in January 2022.
Carla, the owner of Shoto, said that when she received a call on her personal cell phone from a Massachusetts code number, she was initially skeptical and took the call.
When he learned that Shoto had been found two thousand miles from his home, he was quite surprised.
The Dakin Humane Society's post on social media said it was unclear how Shoto got from Texas to Massachusetts. Who knows, maybe only he can tell, how he got so far. His long journey may remain unknown throughout his life.
