Grameen Communications and Japan’s Wik Co. Ltd. have taken the initiative to launch a global digital social business platform called ‘Spark’ to ensure skill development, employment and financial inclusion of Bangladeshis living in various countries around the world, including Bangladesh.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two organizations on the sidelines of the second day of Social Business Day 2026 held at the Social Convention Center in Jirabo, Savar on Sunday (June 28). The matter was later informed by the Yunus Center.

The agreement was signed by Yoshikane Nakamichi, Representative Director of Wik Co. Ltd. of Japan, and Firoz Mahmud, Managing Director of Grameen Communications. Yunus Center Chairman Professor Muhammad Yunus and other concerned persons were present at the event.

The main goal of the project is to create an integrated digital platform based on the principles of social business, where people can connect with each other and new economic opportunities will be created.

It has been reported that through this platform, skill-based work, freelancing opportunities, job connections, professional development, financial inclusion and micro-investment opportunities will be created. The entrepreneurs believe that this will play a role in increasing the economic capacity and stability of Bangladeshis in the long term.
