Gold prices have been increased again in the country's market. On Tuesday (July 22) night, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) said in a notification that the new price will be effective from tomorrow, Wednesday (July 23).
According to the new price, the price of 22-carat gold has been set at Tk 1,71,601 per Bhori, which is Tk 1,050 more than before. In addition, the price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 1,63,798, the price of 18-carat gold at Tk 1,40,400 and the price of traditional gold at Tk 1,16,127.
BAJUS said that this decision has been taken in view of the increase in the price of pure gold in the local market. The new selling price will include the government's 5 percent VAT and the minimum wage set by BAJUS. However, the amount of wage may change depending on the design and quality of the jewelry.
It is worth noting that the last time the price of gold was increased was on July 7. At that time, a 22-carat gold bhori was 1 lakh 70 thousand 551 taka. This is the 43rd time that the price of gold has been adjusted this year. Of these, the price has increased 28 times and decreased 15 times.
However, despite the increase in the price of gold, the price of silver has remained unchanged. Currently, the price of 22-carat silver per bhori is 2 thousand 811 taka, 21-carat 2 thousand 683 taka, 18-carat 2 thousand 298 taka and the price of traditional silver is 1 thousand 726 taka.
