E-return system and call center in tax services

Online return filing system has been opened for taxpayers. Also, a call center has been set up at the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to assist taxpayers with any issues related to e-returns.
From September 12, taxpayers can call the call center number 09643717171 for any service related to e-return.
On Tuesday (September 10), Finance and Commerce Advisor Salehuddin Ahmed opened the system in a meeting on online income tax returns at NBR's head office. At that time NBR Chairman Abdur Rahman Khan and other senior officials were present.
After the meeting, NBR said that the National Board of Revenue is working tirelessly to ensure convenience and speedy service to taxpayers. Online return filing system has been updated for individual taxpayers to file online returns for the tax year 2024-2025.
The online return filing system has been opened for taxpayers from September 9. Tax payers can submit their e-returns for the tax year 2024-2025 easily by submitting their information at www.etaxnbr.gov.bd website.
Besides, taxpayers can report any problem related to e-return in writing and get solution from e-TaxService option of www.etaxnbr.gov.bd.
According to NBR sources, individual taxpayers can prepare their own returns using the e-return system, file returns online or take printouts for offline filing returns, pay taxes through online banking, credit card/debit card or mobile financial services (cash, bkash, rocket etc.). , get immediate proof of return filing, income tax payment certificate and TIN certificate, copy of e-return filed for previous tax year and download proof of return filing.
TIN and biometric verified mobile number in taxpayer's own name will be required to register in this system.
After NBR launched this system in 2021, 61,491 taxpayers filed e-returns in tax year 2021-2022, 2,44,481 in tax year 2022-2023 and 5,26,487 in tax year 2023-2024.
