40,000 tickets sold in 12 hours, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’

The Bollywood comedy film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ starring Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon has created interest in the audience even before its release. According to box office sources, more than 40,000 tickets have been sold in the first 12 hours after the advance ticket sales started.

The film, which is the third installment of the popular ‘Welcome’ franchise, was released in theaters today. Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon will be seen together on the big screen again after almost 18 years through this film.

According to initial information, the film has earned about 89 lakh rupees from advance bookings. And the income including block bookings has exceeded more than 2 crore rupees. The film is being released in more than 3,000 screens across India.

The film is directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Feroz A Nadiadwala. It stars Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez and many others.

The Indian Film Censor Board has given the film a U/A 16+ certificate. Some scenes and dialogues have been changed before the clearance. After the revision, the film's length has stood at 2 hours and 44 minutes.

The makers claim that this big-budget and multi-starrer film has a mix of comedy as well as action and adventure. Now the audience response and the first weekend earnings will determine how successful the film is at the box office.
