One of the most popular stars of the Indian film industry, Shah Rukh Khan, has received the National Film Award for the first time in his 33-year career. The announcement was made earlier, and on that auspicious occasion, the legendary Bollywood actor received the award from the hands of the President of India, Draupadi Murmu, at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday evening. He impressed everyone present at the event by appearing in a black suit and white shirt, in a salt-and-pepper look. Artists and fans also greeted him.
Shah Rukh won this award for his outstanding performance in the 2023 superhit film 'Jawan'. Directed by Atlee and produced under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, the film was produced by his wife Gauri Khan. He jointly won the Best Actor category at the 71st National Film Awards. 'Twelve Fail' actor Vikrant Massey shared the same award with him.
Gauri Khan, who is delighted with the achievement, expressed her feelings on social media. Sharing a picture of Shah Rukh before receiving the award, she wrote, “What an amazing journey. Congratulations on winning the National Award. You deserve it…it is the result of your years of hard work and dedication. Now I am designing a special mantle (showcase) for this award.” Her message went viral in an instant.
After the award was announced in August, Shah Rukh gave a video message to his fans. In it, he expressed his gratitude and said, “The National Award is not just an achievement, it is a reminder of responsibility. It reminds me that what I do is important, and I have to continue serving cinema with more dedication.”
Actress Rani Mukerji was also honored at the 71st National Film Awards. She won the Best Actress award for the film ‘Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway’. Meanwhile, this is the first National Film Award for Vikrant Massey, which has taken him to new heights.
Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy shooting for his new film 'King'. He was in Poland with his daughter Suhana Khan. However, he took a break from shooting at an important moment like receiving the National Award and appeared in Delhi. His move has proven to his fans how deep his respect for art and recognition is.
