Protestant singer Farzana Wahid Sayan has once again highlighted the language of protest in her song. On the first anniversary of the July Uprising, she has released a new song 'Rani Maa', which brings up the pain of the past, memories of bravery, and a hopeful message for the future.

Earlier, last year, she had encouraged the people of the movement by singing the song 'Bhoy Banglaay'. Earlier this year, she also released a song titled 'Ami Juli-er Golpo Bolbo Bandhu', reminding them of the fiery days.

The song 'Rani Maa' was written, composed and released by Sayan himself on his YouTube channel playing the guitar. The lyrics of the song come out, "Don't talk too much, everything will be shut down / A queen mother said, you will lock your mouth and lips."

Sayan, who released the song on Facebook, wrote, “The people of Bangladesh have defeated an evil queen. Today is the day of the mass uprising of that people. In the future, I will live with this belief that all evil rulers will be defeated by the people of the soil forever.”

She also wrote, “I remember every martyr, their pained families, the wounded warriors, and the oppressed souls crushed by one and a half centuries of oppression. Finally, I remember the victory of the people, which came at a lot of sacrifices and will come again.”

Farzana Wahid Sayan has been active in music for more than a century and a half. Her songs have become one of the means of protest, humanity, and political consciousness. She has protested by singing songs about everything from the student-public movement in Bangladesh to the R. G. Kar Hospital incident in West Bengal.
