Actress Parimani has come into the news again. This time she has filed a case against her former housekeeper Pinky Akhter, including five others. The allegation is that she has been personally and mentally harmed by spreading false, fabricated and defamatory information on social media.
Parimani appeared at the Cyber Tribunal in Dhaka on Wednesday (April 23) afternoon and sought justice from the court. The court has ordered the OC of Bhatara Police Station to investigate the case and submit a report.
"I can't take it anymore," Parimani said in a tearful voice before the court. She said, "There are other employees in my house. No one has said such a thing. But the way Pinky Akhter is spreading lies, I am deeply hurt and mentally disturbed."
He added, “I never tortured her. Rather, a gang is using her to spread propaganda against me. My personal videos, conversations—everything is now being spread on social media. It has made my life miserable.”
The case states that Pinky Akhter was hired as a domestic help on March 5. On March 27, Parimoni also paid her Tk 20,000. But on April 2, she suddenly left home. Since then, she has been spreading explosive allegations against Parimoni in one video message and news after another.
Parimoni claims that there is an organized group behind this campaign, who are systematically spreading slander against her. Other names in the case are Morshed Suman, owner of an online platform called ‘Sakal Khabor’, and portals called ‘Pratidiner Bangladesh Entertainment’, ‘People’s News’ and ‘Digital Khabor’.
Meanwhile, on April 17, Pinky Akhter also filed a case against Parimoni. The allegation is that she tried to kill her domestic worker. That case is currently under investigation.
Parimoni has been embroiled in controversies and lawsuits before. However, this time the situation seems to be a little different. The cry of a mother seems to be emerging in her voice—"I just want justice."
