It is learnt that Alia Fakhri, 43, was accused of setting fire to a garage in Queens, New York. Edward Jacob, 35, and Anastasia Etienne, 33, died in the fire. An eyewitness said that Alia was seen in front of the garage on Monday morning. She kept shouting, “You are all going to die today.” Jacob lived on the floor above the garage. The eyewitness also said that after Alia screamed, she saw the garage burning. Based on her words, the police arrested Nargis Fakhri’s sister.
New York's Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said Jacob and Etienne were in the upstairs room of the garage at the time of the incident. However, they were unable to escape the fire. Both died from burns. She said that if convicted of the charge of burning two people to death, Alia Fakhri could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.
