Due to the violence caused by the quota reform movement, the ongoing HSC and equivalent examinations have been suspended in phases considering the safety of the students. So far the boards have postponed the 8-day examination in 3 rounds. In the latest notification, the exam has been postponed till August 1. There is another test next Sunday (August 4). That exam has also been decided to postpone.
As a result of this situation, the HSC and equivalent exams will be conducted in a new schedule from August 11. Till then all exams have been postponed.
Dhaka Education Board Chairman Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar confirmed this information on Thursday (August 1). He said, “For now, the announced routine exams will be conducted from August 11. A decision on the postponed exams will be taken at the earliest." Earlier, the HSC examination on July 18 was postponed due to the ongoing situation. Then all the exams on 21, 23 and 25 July were postponed as the situation worsened. In the third phase, all the examinations scheduled from July 28 to August 1 were postponed by the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee. HSC and equivalent exams started on June 30. This year, the total number of candidates under 9 general education boards, technical boards and madrasa boards is 14 lakh 50 thousand 790 people.
