1 arrested for attempted rape of 3-year-old child in Jessore

Police have arrested a man named Alam Gazi (35) after a complaint was filed in the Sharsha upazila of Jessore in connection with an attempted rape of a 3-year-old child. He was arrested from Sarupdah village of the upazila on Friday (May 22) night.
According to local sources, on the morning of the incident, the accused took the child to a nearby room by luring him with food. Later, when tension arose in the area over the incident, the locals reported the matter and informed the family.
The child's father filed a written complaint with Sharsha police station. After receiving the complaint, the police quickly conducted a drive and arrested the accused the same night.
The officer-in-charge of Sharsha police station said that legal proceedings have been initiated based on the complaint and the matter is under investigation. The child is undergoing necessary medical treatment and other formal procedures.
