Oil hidden in underground water tank: 10,000 liters of fuel recovered in Natore

The upazila administration has recovered a huge quantity of fuel oil hidden in an underground water tank in Singra Upazila of Natore. About 10,000 liters of oil were seized in a raid conducted based on secret information. A mobile court has fined a businessman for creating an artificial crisis in the market in this incident.
On Saturday (March 7) afternoon, Abdullah Al Rifat, who is serving as the Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate of Singra Upazila, conducted a raid in the Thana Mor area of the upazila. During the raid, businessman Md. Rubel was fined Tk 5,000 for illegally storing fuel oil.
The accused Rubel is a resident of Bhatopara area of the upazila and is known to be the owner of a fuel oil shop named ‘Satata Traders’ located in the Thana Mor area. The administration claims that he had been secretly storing oil for a long time with the aim of creating an artificial crisis in the market.
According to administration sources, a raid was conducted in the Thana Mor area on Saturday based on intelligence information. At that time, a water tank was found buried under a bamboo grove on the south side of the Ningain Bhatopara Mosque. When the tank was opened, a large amount of fuel oil was found hidden inside.
After the operation, UNO Abdullah Al Rifat said that creating an artificial crisis in the market by illegally storing fuel oil is a punishable crime. He warned that the administration will continue to monitor so that no one can cause suffering to the common people by doing such things.
