Police have arrested an intern doctor on charges of installing a hidden camera in a washroom designated for female doctors at Tangail Medical College Hospital. The incident has created extreme tension and anger throughout the hospital.
On Monday (January 26) afternoon, medical college students identified the accused intern doctor Raihan Kabir Emon in the hospital premises. Later, the angry intern doctors blocked him along with the hospital director.
Upon receiving the information, the executive magistrate, police and army members reached the spot. When the situation gradually heated up, the police took the accused doctor into custody to control the law and order situation. Later, he was taken to the DB office for questioning.
Tangail Medical College Hospital Director Abdul Quddus said that the accused person has been taken into police custody. A case has not been filed yet, but the legal process is ongoing.
After the incident came to light, there has been intense concern and anger among the hospital doctors and employees. They demanded a fair investigation into the incident and exemplary punishment for the culprit.
Tangail Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ruhul Amin told the media that necessary legal action will be taken if a written complaint is received.
