Bomb-like object recovered from school bag in Faridpur, what was in the bag?

A bomb-like object was recovered from a school bag in the Alipur Bridge area of Faridpur city, creating a huge sensation in the area. To avoid possible risks, joint forces immediately reached the spot, surrounded it with sandbags and carried out a special process to neutralize the object.
The incident took place on Saturday (January 10) at around 11:30 am. Locals became suspicious after seeing a school bag lying in a slum area south of Alipur Bridge in Faridpur city and informed the police. Later, the joint forces reached the spot and searched the bag and recovered a bomb-like object rolled up inside it.
In this regard, Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shahidul Islam said that initially, an army expert team is conducting tests to confirm whether it is a bomb, cocktail or some other object. He mentioned that definitive information will be provided in this regard after detailed verification.
Faridpur Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Ajmir Hossain said that only one bomb-like object was recovered from a school bag. However, it is not possible to say for sure whether it is actually explosive or not without checking it. For the sake of security, the entire area was cordoned off and the object was neutralized through proper procedures.
The incident immediately spread panic in the area. People in the vicinity were evacuated to a safe distance to avoid possible risks. The situation was brought under control without any major accident due to the activities of the police and joint forces. An investigation into the matter is underway and law enforcement agencies are working to identify those involved.
