Tragic Road Accident in Rangpur: Three Family Members, Including SSC Examinee, Killed by Bus

In a heartbreaking road accident in Kaunia, Rangpur, three members of the same family lost their lives, including an SSC examinee, a woman, and a child. The incident occurred at around 9:15 AM on Tuesday in the Jumma area of Mahesha village under Kaunia upazila.
The deceased have been identified as Rubina Begum (32), wife of Md. Ashraful Islam Londi of Mahesha village, their two-year-old son Rahmat Ali, and Ashraful’s niece, Afshana Begum Sneha (16), an SSC candidate.
According to family and police sources, Ashraful Islam was taking his wife, son, and niece to the Mofazzal Hossain Government High School SSC exam center on a motorcycle. When they reached the Jumma area of Mahesha village, a speeding bus coming from the opposite direction ran over the motorcycle. Rubina Begum, her son Rahmat Ali, and niece Sneha died on the spot.
Locals rushed to the scene and tried to apprehend the bus, but the driver fled. Police arrived shortly afterward, recovered the bodies, and launched a preliminary investigation.
Kaunia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Latif Shah confirmed the deaths and stated that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the bus driver. Legal procedures will follow accordingly.
A wave of mourning has swept through the local community following the tragic deaths.
