Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have arrested a person while smuggling 1 kg 25 grams of crystal meth known as ice at Ramut in Cox's Bazar. His name is Saiful Islam (20). He was arrested with ice from an easy bike going to Cox's Bazar at the Morichya check post on the Teknaf-Cox's Bazar regional highway on Saturday evening.
The arrested Saiful Islam is the son of Sirajul Haque of Dhwapalong village of Ramu upazila. He was sent to jail this Sunday afternoon. Ramu-30 BGB Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Syed Wahiduzzaman confirmed this information in Prothom Alo.
According to BGB sources, a search was conducted on an easy bike going to Cox's Bazar at Morichya Chowk of Teknaf-Cox's Bazar regional highway yesterday evening based on intelligence information. At this time, Saiful Islam, a passenger of an easy bike going from Ukhia to Cox's Bazar, was searched and 1 kg of 25 grams of crystal meth ice specially hidden in his shopping bag was recovered. The value of which is more than five crore rupees. Saiful was handed over to Ramu police station along with crystal meth ice and a case was filed.
