The Navy has joined the rescue of those trapped in water in Feni

Hundreds of thousands of people in the vast townships of the three upazilas of Feni are witnessing the terrible form of floods due to the heavy pressure of the Indian mountain torrents and continuous rains. As per the latest information available on Thursday (August 22), around 95 per cent of Phulghazi, Parashuram and Chagalnaya areas of the district have been submerged in water due to floods. The road communication system is closed, there is no electricity connection. Feni district has almost lost communication with the whole country.

Coast Guard, BGB and Navy have already joined the army to rescue the flood victims. Rescue assistance by the Navy has been extended to Feni. Around 10 am on Thursday, the Bangladesh Navy announced the participation in the rescue operation in Feni from their verified Facebook page. They said in their status, 'Two more contingents of the Navy departed from Dhaka and Chittagong and participated in the rescue operation in the flood-affected area in Feni. Diving gear, life-jackets, speedboats and other essential items are being used in rescue operations. Emergency medical services and food distribution activities are ongoing.

Many people were seen asking for help in the comment box of those statuses. A person named Nadia Islam Dina wrote,
Please increase the manpower. Include common people and divide the team and spread it. May God help you, I pray.
A person named Saber (SA B ER) wrote, 'It is not possible to rescue any family in Fulgazi, Parashuram Upazila, many bodies have been floating in the water. 8 rescue teams along with 4 Coast Guards of the Army are also stranded.
It is not possible to carry out rescue work. At 3:30 pm the situation there is going out of control and with it the situation in Ruhitiya village of Kazirbagh union of Feni Sadar upazila is going out of control. Please go there and rescue the people so that the situation remains good.'
A horrible night with cries of 'Save us'

An ID named Antara said, "Salakandi, Baher Gara village of Comilla Chauddagram Upazila. No. 8 Munsirhat Union. Please rescue. My family and relatives are stuck. 01848179570 my mother's number..plz help. No one's number is calling. Still try. To rescue directly.
Mohammad Nur (Mohammad Nur) wrote, "Mohsen Ali Miyaji Bari". Village: Daulatpur, Ward No. 2, Ghopal Union No. 10, Old Muhuriganj 45/50 people are trapped here in small and large mills. The basement of our house is flooded, they are currently located on the second floor. If there is a team around please rescue them.'
It has been informed by the district administration that Bangladesh Coast Guard is also joining the rescue operation. All local rural roads including the Feni-Parashuram regional road are closed due to flood. The flood control dams of Muhuri, Kahua and Silonia rivers in Feni are inundating the surrounding towns with high velocity.
According to a report of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief today, 160 personnel from the army and 40 rescue vehicles have been sent to Feni district. Besides, a water treatment plant has been set up. 71 Navy personnel and 8 rescue vehicles are working.
Earlier, the army started working with speedboats to rescue the people trapped in the flood-affected areas around noon. At the same time, hundreds of volunteers from BGB members and district volunteer families are conducting day-long rescue operations and providing food aid.
