A Chhatra Dal activist named Sachin Biswas Saju (22) was shot dead by miscreants in Pabna's Ishwardi. The incident took place on the road in front of Uttarpara Mosque in Charruppur (Jigatla) of Pakshi Union of Upazila on Tuesday (August 6) around 11 pm.
The deceased Sachin is the son of the deceased Bilat Biswas of Nawa Rooppur Dakshinpara village and a worker of the local ward Chhatra Dal. Sachin Hossain Saju's death has been confirmed by former general secretary of Ishwardi Upazila Chhatra Dal, Tanveer Hasan Sumon.
He said that Sachin was an active worker of the local ward Chhatra Dal. Since there was no committee of the Chhatra Dal, he performed the duties of the party as a worker.
Locals said that on Tuesday night, Sachin Charruppur Uttarpara (Jigatla) was having a banquet with the party leaders in a house next to the mosque. While everyone was eating and drinking, as soon as Sachin came on the road while talking on his mobile, the miscreants shot him in the head and hit him with a knife and fled on a motorcycle. Later he was rescued and brought to Iswardi Upazila Health Complex in a coma. After giving first aid there, he was sent to Pabna General Hospital. Locals believe that this murder may happen due to internal conflicts and dominance.
Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex Health and Family Planning Officer Malekul Aftab Bhuiyan said that the injured Sachin Biswas was sent to Pabna General Hospital after giving first aid. He suffered severe head injuries. A part of the skull is severed. I heard that he died in Pabna Hospital. When contacted in this regard, Ishwardi police officers did not receive the call.
