2 policemen killed in Comilla lynching, one youth dies in firing

Two members of the Titas police station in Comilla were killed in the lynching. This incident happened late Monday night. Meanwhile, Babu Mia (21), a resident of Tujarbhanga village of Daudkandi upazila, was shot dead.
Eyewitnesses said that when the local crowd tried to surround the Titas police station, the police fired indiscriminately in self-defense. At least 30 people were shot. Later, the army members reached the police station and rescued the policemen. After rescuing the policemen, the eager crowd set fire to the Titas police station and the market next to the police station. At that time, two policemen guarding the police station tried to escape by opening the gate behind the police station to save their lives. The mob saw the policemen and beat them up. Two policemen died on the spot in the thrashing.
On Tuesday morning, hundreds of men and women in the area came to see the dead bodies of policemen in groups and took pictures and videos on their mobile phones. The local people entered the police station and took away all the goods.
Meanwhile, Babu Mia (21), a resident of Tujarbhanga village in Sadar of Daudkandi upazila, went to Daudkandi market yesterday. He was shot dead by the police after reaching the road in front of Daudkandi Model Police Station. When the eager crowd tried to surround the police station, the police fired indiscriminately in self-defense.
