Whole frog found in a packet of chicken polao, fined Tk 20,000

The incident of finding a whole frog in a packet of chicken polao in Roumari, Kurigram has created a sensation in the area. After finding the truth of the complaint, the upazila administration conducted a mobile court and fined the concerned food shop Tk 20,000.
The Roumari upazila administration conducted the operation on Monday (June 1) afternoon. According to local sources, Atowar Rahman and Ashikur Rahman bought five packets of chicken polao from a food shop named 'Nanna Biryani House' in the upazila and took it home.
Later, while serving food to their family members, they found a whole frog inside one of the packets. When the matter came to light, there was widespread discussion and anger in the area. Locals especially raised questions about the quality and hygiene of the food.
Upon receiving the news, upazila administration officials went to the spot and investigated the complaint. After the investigation found the truth of the complaint, legal action was taken against the concerned institution.
Roumari Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Alauddin said that the operation was conducted based on the complaint of finding frogs in food packets and the truth of the incident was found. For this, the establishment has been fined Tk 20,000.
The incident has raised new concerns among the locals about safe food and preparing food according to hygiene rules. The upazila administration said that such operations will continue in the future to protect public health.
