A strange theft incident has created a stir in the area in Nilphamari's Saidpur. After Fajr prayers, an imam came out of the mosque and found that his motorcycle was missing. However, an old bicycle was left behind at the scene.
The incident took place in front of the Niamatpur Jummapara Jame Mosque in Saidpur city on Monday morning.
The mosque's imam Abdur Razzak said that he came to the mosque on a motorcycle to offer Fajr prayers as usual. After the prayers, he came out and saw that his 125 cc motorcycle, which was kept in the designated place, was not there. An old bicycle was lying there.
Later, after talking to the locals, it was learned that the bicycle did not belong to anyone in the area. It is believed that the thief left his used bicycle and fled with the motorcycle.
Local resident Saidur Rahman said that the incident is quite unusual. It seems that the thief left his own bicycle while taking the motorcycle.
Imam Abdur Razzak was shocked after losing his motorcycle after the incident. Later, he filed a written complaint with the police station.
In this regard, Syedpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rezaul Karim said that after receiving the complaint, CCTV footage of the surrounding area was collected. A suspect was seen in the footage and efforts are underway to identify him.
