Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized a large quantity of Indian liquor and cows in a separate operation in the border area of ​​Chapainawabganj.

According to BGB, 35 bottles of Indian liquor were seized during an operation in the Monoharpur BOP area of ​​Durlavpur Union of Shibganj Upazila. The estimated market value of the seized liquor is around Tk 52,500.

At the same time, 14 Indian cows were seized in separate operations by different BOPs, whose estimated market value is around Tk 3.5 million.

The BGB said that the process of handing over the seized liquor to Shibganj Police Station and the cows to Chapainawabganj Customs Office is underway.

Kazi Mustafizur Rahman said that the BGB is conducting regular operations to secure the border and prevent smuggling. Patrols, check posts and intelligence surveillance have been further strengthened in remote areas, river routes and important points of the border to prevent cattle and drug smuggling ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.

The BGB said that operations will continue to prevent illegal smuggling in the border areas.
