Masud dies after being burnt while trying to make octane using alternative methods

Nur Alam Masud (oil mill owner), who was burnt in a horrific explosion while making octane using an alternative method after watching YouTube in Feni, has died while undergoing treatment.
He died while undergoing treatment at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Saturday morning.
The deceased Masud is the owner of 'Sata Oil Mills' in Sonagazi Municipality, Feni and the son of Abdul Khalek of Charganesh village of Omar Khan Pathan Bari in the upazila's Matatakandi village.
His brother-in-law Mohammad Russell confirmed the death and said that the body will be handed over to the relatives after the autopsy.
Another person named Md. Omar Faruk, who was seriously burnt in the incident, is currently undergoing treatment.
According to local sources, Masud was trying to make octane using an alternative method after watching YouTube in his establishment on Tuesday (April 14) afternoon. At that time, a pipe suddenly exploded due to excessive temperature. He and his colleague Omar Faruk were seriously burned.
The deceased's brother Morshed said that the accident occurred when the temperature went out of control while working with a new method.
Sonagazi Model Police Station OC (Investigation) Shafiqur Rahman said that the police have inspected the scene. No written complaint has been received so far. Legal action will be taken if a complaint is received.
