9,000 liters of illegal diesel seized in Narsingdi, fine collected

The administration has seized 9,000 liters of diesel in a joint operation against illegal fuel storage in Narsingdi. The operation was conducted in the Mulpara area of ​​Jinardi Union in Palash Upazila of the district around 12 midnight on Thursday (April 16).

Executive Magistrate Naeem Hasan Shuvo and Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Kalimullah led the operation. According to administration sources, 9,000 liters of diesel illegally stored in the Nur Nabila Sizing Mill located in Mulpara were recovered in the operation conducted as part of regular supervision.

After the recovery, the fuel was immediately confiscated and later sold at the government-determined price near the MK CNG Filling Station in Bhagiratpur area of ​​Madhabdi. The total value of the oil sold in this operation stands at 8 lakh 47 thousand 510 taka, which is in the process of being deposited in the state treasury.

A fine of 60,000 taka has been imposed on those involved in this incident as per the Consumer Rights Protection Act and the Petroleum Act and the amount has been collected immediately.

The district administration and district police said that such operations will continue in the future in the public interest.
