This incident spread panic among the teachers and staff of the college, including two assistant professors.
On Sunday (April 12) morning, the two parcels sent to the college address in the names of Assistant Professor of Psychology Department Anwar Hossain and Head of Islamic Studies Department Assistant Professor Abdus Samad were handed over to them. Later, upon opening the parcels, they found shroud cloth inside, which immediately created concern in the entire college.
It is known that the two parcels were sent by post by two people named Likhon Hossain of Kharkharia area of Tarash upazila of Sirajganj and Johnny Ahmed of Bhadash area. Earlier, the parcels reached the college on Thursday afternoon and the office head received them. However, since the recipients were not present, they were handed over to them intact on Sunday morning.
Immediately after the incident, when the local administration was informed, the Gurdaspur police station came to the college at around 11:50 am, seized the two parcels and took them to the police station. Two teachers filed a general diary (GD) with the police station in this incident and expressed concern about their safety.
College principal Mahatab Uddin said that he was not informed about the arrival of the parcels earlier, and was told to take legal action after being informed later. On the other hand, the newly elected president of the college management committee, Professor Md. Omar Ali, said that the two teachers concerned are currently in charge of the college's income and expenditure audit. Therefore, it is believed that such an incident could have been committed with the aim of intimidation. He also said that such an incident could have occurred due to internal conflict.
