A Bangladeshi youth has finally lost his life after being injured in a missile attack in Saudi Arabia. The deceased, Abdullah Al Mamun (35), was a resident of Gafargaon Upazila of Mymensingh. The news of his death has plunged the family and the area into deep grief.

According to family sources, a terrible missile explosion occurred in a labor camp in Al Khariz city on March 8, just before Iftar. Mamun was seriously burned. Later, he was rushed to Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital. He died late Tuesday night while undergoing treatment there while on life support.

It is learned that about 72 percent of Mamun's body was burned in the explosion, which became fatal for him. He fought for life and death for a long time before his death. The family, including his only child, is now devastated by the weight of grief.

Several other Bangladeshis were killed in the same attack. Two people were killed in Kishoreganj and Tangail, the two most recent deaths reported. The incident has raised fresh concerns about the safety of Bangladeshis living abroad.

Mamun's body is currently in a hospital morgue in Saudi Arabia. His relatives have sought government assistance to quickly repatriate his body.
