Even though patients are constantly increasing in Rajbari, the number of ophthalmologists in government hospitals is not increasing. Only two doctors of Sadar Hospital are treating the eye patients of the entire district.
In Rajbari Sadar Hospital, on an average, more than a hundred patients with eye diseases receive treatment every day. In this situation, doctors are struggling to serve patients. Also, the patients are suffering due to the lack of eye doctor in the health complexes at the upazila level.
It is known that Rajbari district has Sadar Hospital and 4 Upazila Health Complexes. Among them, there are only two junior consultants in ophthalmology in Rajbari Sadar Hospital. Besides, there is no ophthalmologist as there is no post in Upazila Health Complex Hospital.
