Independent candidate for Brahmanbaria-2 (two unions of Sarail-Ashuganj-Bijaynagar) constituency, Barrister Rumin Farhana, has urged voters to guard polling stations from the afternoon of the day before the vote until the counting of votes is completed. He said that everyone should keep an eye on whether the votes are secure or not, so that no one gets a chance to tamper with any kind of vote.
He said these things at several election road meetings organized in Tongipara and Lalpur Unions of Tarua and Sharifpur Unions of Ashuganj Upazila on Wednesday (January 28) afternoon. Rumin Farhana said that if anyone tries to tamper with the vote, the police, army, BGB and the common people of the area will jointly resist it.
Seeking votes with his symbol, the duck, at the road meeting, he said that the duck is a symbol of honesty and courage. It is a symbol against litigation, extortion and terrorism and a reflection of standing up and speaking out against injustice in parliament. He urged voters to vote for the duck symbol.
He also said that voting cannot be done anywhere else in exchange for money or under threat. A vote is very valuable, which is related to the future of the voter, his children and the area. He also warned that if someone wants to buy votes today, they will take away the rights of the people and compensate for it in the future.
At that time, Rumin Farhana alleged that after August 5, many people have been sued and are being threatened with lawsuits if they do not pay. He questioned whether the people want such misrule again? If elected, he also promised to promote Sarail and Ashuganj to municipalities and provide overall development to the area.
