Martyr Osman Hadi's funeral completes amid tearful farewell by millions

The funeral of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi has been completed. His funeral was held at 2:33 pm on Saturday (December 20) at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in the presence of thousands of people from different walks of life.
Hadi's elder brother Abu Bakr Siddique led the funeral prayers. A mournful atmosphere was created throughout the area during the funeral. After the prayers, he was taken to the tomb of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam for burial. Preparations for the burial were underway there.
Earlier, the work of digging the grave began at 11:30 am on Saturday. Dhaka University Proctor Saifuddin Ahmed, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Ramna Zone Deputy Commissioner (DC) (DC) Masud Alam, along with some Dhaka University teachers and members of the proctorial team were present at the time.
Earlier, the body was taken from the National Heart Institute's cold storage to the Suhrawardy Hospital morgue for autopsy. After the autopsy, the body was brought to the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building. Hadi's family members, colleagues and well-wishers were present at the time. An atmosphere of mourning prevailed in the entire area while the body was being carried.
It is worth noting that Osman Hadi was attacked on December 12 at around 2:15 pm while he was riding a rickshaw in front of the Bijoynagar water tank in the capital. Two men on a motorcycle shot him at close range and fled. He was later taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
Later, at the family's decision, he was transferred to Evercare Hospital in the capital. His treatment continued in the intensive care unit (ICU) there. He was taken to Singapore by air ambulance on Monday for advanced treatment. He died there on Thursday.
