A human chain and press conference were held in protest against the eviction notice issued to over a hundred extremely poor families living on government land in the Kurigram (Hatir Bagan) area of Narail Municipality. Over a hundred local men and women participated in the human chain at the court premises at 11 am on Wednesday (November 5).
At the end of the human chain and press conference, the victims submitted a written petition with mass signatures to the Narail District Commissioner, demanding that their eviction process be suspended.
It is worth noting that on October 27, the district administration issued a notice to move these families, who have been living in the Hatir Bagan area for a long time. In protest against this notice, the locals organized a human chain and press conference.
