The presence of MPO-registered teachers and employees stationed at the central Shaheed Minar in the capital has gradually increased. After the government deadline ends by 3 pm today, the teachers are going to start the pre-announced 'Long March to the Secretariat'. The teachers and employees have already started preparations for that.
Upon visiting the Shaheed Minar, it was seen that the presence of teachers reached several thousand as the day progressed. Those present said that they will start the long march towards the Secretariat around 4 pm.
It is worth noting that the teachers are holding a sit-in program for the second day at the central Shaheed Minar in the capital. Their demands are three points:
20 percent of the basic salary (minimum three thousand taka) as house rent allowance.
Increase in medical allowance for teachers and employees from one thousand five hundred taka to one thousand and fifty taka.
Increase in festival allowance of employees to 75 percent.
Teachers have been protesting for this demand for a long time and are seeking to increase pressure on the government by marching towards the secretariat.
